Peek-A-Boo Easel

Hello stampers!!!  Whew is it COLD and snowy here in the Mitten state!!  We just got dumped on with inches, upon inches of snow!!  This morning, i awoke to the sound of my sweet baby girl (awwww), only to realize that i was running extremely late due to us having no power!!  It was a hoot, and quite a site i am sure, trying to get ready this morning by only a light glow from a flashlight! I truly felt like a pioneer women and realized how much i take something as simple as electricity for granted!

Today's card is a Peek-A-Boo Easel card.  This card, if you have seen them before, normally where my "cup" stamp is, there is a sheer piece of velum or window sheet so that you can see the glow of a battery operated tea-light shine through.  These cards were huge this past Christmas.  However, since Christmas already passed, i wanted to make mine about warm weather, which i am hoping comes soon!!!

Here is what the card looks like when it is opened:

Though this card may look a bit complicated to make, it truly is not.  First you need the base of your card to measure 4 1/4" x 11" and then score at 5 1/2".  Therefore it is the same size as an average size card.  Once you have that done, on the left flap you need to score from the top left corner point to the bottom right corner point.  Then, cut a piece of card stock (i don't recommend DSP for this part because it is not as heavy) at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Place sticky on the scored piece and then place your new cut card stock (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") on that triangle piece.  Now you should be able to open your card.

For the layers above i used Tempting Turquoise (4 1/2" x 5 1/2", this is the piece you stick to your triangle), Wild Wasabi (4" x 5 1/4") and Whisper White (3 3/4" x 5").  I used a piece of Floral District DSP topped with another piece of Wild Wasabi for my finishing touches. For my stamp, i used a cute little glass from the set Happy Hour (way too cute!!!) Here is a closer look at that awesome DSP pack and cute stamp set:

LOVE IT!!!!  Well all, hope you enjoyed today and i hope you stop by again!!  Until next time...
